My Favorite Tech, Tools & People
I only recommend tools I actually use in my own businesses and the people I trust to support me and my business. These are affiliate links — I get a small commission if you purchase through them, at no extra cost to you.
Get Numbers You Can Trust
- QuickBooks Online — I've used QuickBooks since it came out in the 1990s to track the numbers for my businesses and manage my financial data. I moved to the online version in 2014 for the mobility and deep integration with banks and never looked back.
- Royalwise — My favorite resource for learning the in's & out's of QuickBooks Online. I met Alicia Katz Pollock — one of America's Top 50 Women in Accounting — at one of my ProAdvisor trainings. She offers inexpensive classes for every level of QBO user, including how to leverage QBO to track your numbers the easy way and specialized topics like creating your 1099s.
Document, Delegate & Get Out of Your Own Way
- Scribehow — How I visually document click-by-click processes in my business. No more creating & watching videos — the steps and instructions are all in the easy to follow guide I create with this amazing tool.
- AI Playbook — My favorite resource for using AI in my business. Rick Mulready and the AI Playbook community are my go-to for actually leveraging AI to get things done — not just playing with it. Besides tutorials, there's a hive mind of business nerds who help you use AI to simplify and execute. Rick's background as a marketing and business coach means he knows what's worth your time and what's fluff.
Sell Products Online
- Shopify — The all-in-one home for my direct-to-consumer grass-fed beef business. This is the all-in-one home for Old Time Farm's website, online store, in-person point-of-sale platform, inventory management, email, and subscription management.
- Shop School — My favorite resource for learning Shopify. Shelley Easter is who I turn to when I can't get something done in Shopify. Besides offering unlimited site audits on Loom when you join Shop School, Shelley is a website designer who specializes in Shopify — she knows all the little tips and tricks to get it to behave how you want it to.
Build Your Coaching Business
- Kajabi — The platform I run my entire coaching business on. Courses, coaching, community, emails, website, everything.
- Unicorn Advisory — My favorite resource for learning Kajabi. Sue McLaughlin covers the things the tutorials just don't — the little things that actually trip you up. I subscribe to Kajabi Quickstart and get access to Sue in the community, her chatbot Suey, and live Q&A.
Skip the Photo Shoot
- Haute Stock — Professional stock photos and videos for your website and social posts — without picking up a camera. I use Haute Stock to skip the photo shoot and show up consistently without the time drain of managing my own images.
