My dad ran my great-grandmother's business—a 7-figure tractor dealership and school bus operation she'd built over seventy years. When he died unexpectedly at 55, I stepped up for her. I was an accountant running my husband's plumbing and excavating company, so she trusted me to protect what she'd built.

Suddenly I was leading a business I didn't know, with 30 grieving employees looking to me for answers I didn't have. I had to figure out government contracts and massive loans while protecting her legacy and the income she depended on—all while navigating my own grief.
